Support service in the execution of the Punt Lila service for main celebration of Vilafranca del Penedès that took place between August 26th and September 2nd, 2022.
What is a Punt Lila?
A Punt Lila is a physical space, usually within a festive context, which aims to inform, raise awareness about sexist and LGTBIphobic aggressions, as well as offer advice and act in case of any occurrence.
Organization
The Punt Lila of the Vilafranca Festa Major had two spaces strategically located in places where all the festive events took place. The first space was located in the sports area, and the other in the Vila’s square.
Each of the spaces had a tent with awareness-raising material such as wristbands, stickers, flyers….
The actions of the Punt were governed by the protocol for addressing sexist and LGTBIphobic aggressions in public and festive spaces of the City Council of Vilafranca del Penedès.
Team
Eight people were involved in the development of Punt Lila, four in each space. From LaGroc, we will participate two people in the service, one in each space.
Thus, each space of the Punt had four people, two of them were in the tent and the other two were itinerant people, who moved around the space and acted as a permanent link between the space where the people attending the party move, the surrounding streets, the Punt and the bars where drinks were served inside the party.
Coordination
For the correct development of the Punt, coordination with all the agents participating in the events (health services and Red Cross, staff of the entities and the bars, security forces and private security) was vital.
The Punt Lila ended a time after the end of the party and each night an intervention sheet was filled out which included the number of people reported in the tent, the interventions carried out, complaints and other observations.
